Operations is now available! This Handbook has been a vision of ours since our first book
(Regulations Handbook for Uninspected Towing Vessels (UTV)) was
published in 1998. Assembling this book, however, proved to be a more
daunting task since long-standing public interest in the environment has
resulted in many more regulations on this industry than on towing
vessels. The most significant challenge we faced was knowing where and
when to stop! Nevertheless, we have compiled the USCG Code of Federal
Regulations that we feel is a complete guide for anyone involved in

almost double its original size, and evolved into a useful resource for
